The Winter Soldier is an antihero from Marvel Comics

First appeared in Captain America #1, as the Winter Soldier first appeared in Captain America Vol. 5 Issue 1, created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

Born name James Buchanan Barnes, nicknamed, was Steve Rogers’ closest ally and strongest support during WWII.

After his sacrifice in a mission at the end of WWII was revived by the Soviet secret science organization X-Department, brainwashed and transformed into “The Winter Soldier,” a perfect Cold War assassin for the Soviets.

Later, he regained his memory after multiple confrontations with Avengers members.
